My job is to show you a perspective that you haven’t considered. One grounded in what people actually do, not what you assume they’ll do.
Launching a product or a behaviour change programme is expensive. A focused piece of work at the start can save you from spending valuable time and money on something that doesn’t change anything.
Innovation that fits into people’s lives
When you’re developing a new product or service, a key question is whether it will fit naturally in people’s everyday lives.
I help teams shape innovations to fit with people’s daily decisions and routines, to ensure that it delivers to its potential.
Behaviour Change That Matters
You want to get people to do something differently. To grow your brand, to tackle a health challenge or drive sustainability. The question is how to do this in a way that people will start doing it, and keep doing it.
I help teams identify the behaviour to target, understand what gets in the way, and design approaches that change what people do. And prove it, too.
Can plant-based be indulgent?
I designed two studies to understand how sustainable alternatives could be designed to communicate indulgence and sustainability. The findings were surprising.
Can a clean label sway choice?
I helped an ingredient development team test whether a clean-label ingredient would sway consumers’ choices. It didn’t.
Hellmann’s: reducing food waste
I grounded a behaviour change programme in the science of how habits form and co-led the impact evaluation. The pilot achieved a 33-46% reduction in self-reported food waste across 2,400 households.
Knorr: improving nutrition
I led the impact evaluation of a behaviour change programme to change cooking behaviours. 41% of mothers in the programme group adopted the new cooking behaviour versus 5% in the control group.
Want your innovation to be adopted?
Want to change what people do?
Every project is unique. Some need a quick, focused analysis to clarify the question. Others need a more thorough process – research, programme design, impact evaluation, or all three.
UNDERSTAND
Behavioural Review
A grounded read on the behaviour behind your product, service, or challenge — what people do now, why, and what that means for your next move.
Short: a fast, focused scan. Long: a deep review of the science, the data, and the opportunity, as a presentation or written report.
Clarity on what’s really driving behaviour, and what to do about it.
INVESTIGATE
Consumer Research
Bespoke research designed around your actual question – testing an innovation, or building a behavioural intervention. I design the study around the behaviour you need to understand, and commission the right partners to run it.
Qualitative to understand the why. Quantitative to size it and test it.
The evidence you need to make a decision.
PROVE
Impact Evaluation
I design and run the evaluation that shows whether your intervention actually changed behaviour and the outcome that matters, like less food waste or better health.
Credible proof of whether your idea works.
